Privacy at Big Lever Institute

Learn freely. Choose what you share. Keep your private AI conversations in your own workspace.

This policy applies when published on bigleverinstitute.org. It covers our website, educational activities, community administration and the Big Lever AI Guides.

Who we are

Big Lever Institute Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation providing free education and a learning community. Big Lever Ventures LLC is an in-kind donor, contributing time, materials, bandwidth and AI tokens, and publishes Guide Me and Your Learning Path. This policy covers the information handled by the Institute and by Ventures in supporting these guides. Independent platforms have their own privacy practices.

Visiting the website

Public website pages require no Institute account or payment. We do not embed an AI chatbot, advertising trackers or social-media tracking pixels. Cloudflare hosts and protects the site; it processes technical request information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information to deliver pages and protect its services. We have disabled Worker application logs and invocation tracing. That does not prevent Cloudflare from processing information needed to operate its network under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits, popular pages, referral sources and site performance. It uses a measurement beacon without analytics cookies or browser fingerprinting. We do not connect website statistics to a learner’s identity or outcomes. We do not enable the measurement beacon on the staging site. We will update this policy if we introduce a different analytics service or materially different collection.

Learning and the community

Use lessons with a suitable assistant of your choice. Your assistant provider processes the documents and conversations you give it under its own terms and settings. Sharing work in the community is voluntary. Remove personal or confidential details before posting; public posts may be visible to other people and search engines.

Skool operates our community. Institute administrators can see membership information, posts and other activity Skool makes available to them, and use it to administer the community and respond to questions. Skool’s privacy policy governs its processing. Community links may use our short link at blv.s.gy; following a short link involves a redirect service before you reach Skool. Providers receive technical information when you visit their services.

Participation and voluntary surveys

Our door is open and our programming is free. We do not grade learners, maintain individual outcome records or collect demographic, disadvantage or education-level profiles to measure who uses our programs. We do not associate a particular learner with a particular outcome.

We use aggregate participation information where available and may invite voluntary surveys about satisfaction, participation, starts, completion and how learners apply what they learn. Survey responses are used in anonymized form for program improvement and reporting. Invitations will explain the purpose, survey provider and collection method. You can decline without losing access to learning. We will not publish identifiable responses without separate permission. Website visits alone cannot tell us whether someone completed a lesson; reports will distinguish website activity from self-reported survey responses.

Your AI Guide conversations

Guide Me and Your Learning Path are teaching instructions with a dated curriculum snapshot. The current skills-only packages have no Institute-hosted server connection and do not automatically send your conversations, files or progress to us. Using a guide does not give the Institute access to your private chat. OpenAI processes information in your ChatGPT account under its privacy policy, applicable terms and your account settings.

Voluntary support and feedback

If you email help@bigleverinstitute.org, we receive your email address, message and attachments. We use them to help you and improve lessons and guides. The support mailbox is an Institute alias administered through Big Lever Ventures’ Google Workspace account. Google processes email under its applicable Workspace terms and privacy practices. Avoid sending passwords, verification codes or unnecessary private documents.

We do not sell your personal information or feedback, use it for targeted advertising, or automatically collect your AI chats. We share information only with service providers needed to operate these activities, people authorized to provide support, or where necessary to meet a legal obligation or protect rights and safety.

Your work belongs to you

Using our resources does not grant us rights to your private work. We seek separate permission before using learner work as an educational example or for research or promotion. Posting in the community makes your post available according to the platform’s visibility settings and terms; it does not grant us a blanket promotional license.

Retention and your choices

We keep voluntary support and feedback information only while useful for support and improvement, and delete it on request, except where a legal obligation requires retention. Providers may retain backups or operational records under their own policies. We may keep anonymized aggregate information for program improvement; information that cannot be traced to a person cannot be individually retrieved or deleted.

Email help@bigleverinstitute.org to ask about information we hold, request correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We may need enough information to verify and locate your request. Requests to us do not delete information independently held by Skool, OpenAI, Google or another provider; use that provider’s account controls as well. You may also exercise any privacy rights available under applicable law.

Age and policy updates

Our programming is intended for adults. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied such information to us, contact us so we can address it. Platform age requirements still apply.

We date policy versions and explain material changes when our practices change. We will update this policy before introducing new learner profiling or individual outcome collection. Questions: help@bigleverinstitute.org.
